“Jim has finished high school now and would like to enter college to better equip himself for God’s labor.”

Handwritten autobiography to accompany his application to Wheaton College. Paper, 2 pages on single sheet, 7” x 10”. August 21, 1945. Jim Elliot submitted this handwritten autobiography, written in the third person, as part of the application process. He recounts his childhood and early conversion to Christ; his Christian experience as “mediocre, half-hearted” until his second year of high school, when his brother, Bob, returned from Wheaton College possessing a newfound zeal for Jesus Christ.
